Brian Protheroe

I bought Brian Protheroe's album Pinball in the Notting Hill Record and Tape Exchange in the 1970s... and loved it. He's recently had a revival of interest and so tracks with accompanying video have been appearing on youtube.

There's the title track from that album Pinball, and others like Fly Now from the Pinball album too.
Although I didn't come across before youtube featured it, CitySong.

I know it's the kiss of death for an artist if I say I like them... but I like Brian Protheroe. His songs are great to sing along with, and to listen in the early hours of the morning.

Agreed - I first heard the track Pinball on an old K-Tel type various artists' compilation album in '74 and loved it to bits.

Fast forward to turn of this century, and a good rummage around on the internet revealed his personal website, with news, discography etc (which - for some reason - has since disappeared).

A great musical talent, his albums Pinball, City Song, I/You and Pick Up are real gems. They are still available online: http://www.basta.nl/CatalogueDetails.aspx?zn=1&IDCat=25

Did you know he is also a fine actor? He's appeared in loads of tv, film and stage productions. A quick search of the IMDB website will reveal all.

One of my very favourite artists, and it's nice to know there are others out there who recognise his obvious talent.
